Sophie paints primarily from a place of emotional expression. Sometimes she envisions a piece before beginning, but often she allows the process to unfold intuitively, exploring what emerges on the canvas as a reflection of her inner world. Her practice includes photographic transfer, collage, and stitch, frequently using recycled canvases and unusual materials. Many of her pieces include sparkly, reflective, or iridescent elements that shift and change depending on the light and viewpoint, inviting the viewer into a dynamic experience.
She offers a range of custom positivity paintings, both ready to buy and available to commission. Sophie has been creating and exhibiting her art for over twenty years. Her first exhibition took place in 2000 in the old Aldwych Tube Station in London, and in 2019 she was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

Colourful Abstracts
I use a mixture of materials including acrylic, emulsion, paper collage, photographic transfer, ink, pen and pastel. Sometimes employing glitter, nail varnish, hair dye or make up when necessary. I paint onto canvas, sometimes recycled canvas or reclaimed blankets, roller blinds or plain conventional paper.

Minimal Monochrome
This is like the opposite of the colourful abstracts almost like the negative version of that type of painting. Painted from a meditative place on instinct using black oil paint on canvas paper. The patterns evolve bringing an element of symbolism for a clean, minimalist aesthetic.

Positivity Paintings
Using positive symbolism, memories, photographs, colour matching and semi precious stones, my commissioned canvases are designed to uplift, inspire positivity and mental and emotional wellbeing by infusing the energy in the space with love, peace and harmony or fun.
