During the years from 2015 to 2025 I created a large body of work in the form of painting, photography and writing. As this 10 year chapter of my life has closed, I am now bringing all of this body of work together.

In 2015 I embarked on a creative study of psychology to understand why I had always found life so difficult. I was fed up with feeling dreadful and I set out to discover why.

Over ten years of study later, multiple qualifications and certificates later, many waiting lists and consultations later, I turned out to be significantly neurodivergent, diagnosed with both ASD and ADHD. Both of these had been present for my entire life. They had just gone unnoticed, undiagnosed and unsupported. Which explains why my life was the way it was and why everything was such a challenge.

I also have a hereditary, progressive neuromuscular condition called CMT which is changing the way I can work. The fine motor skills needed for hand stitching and the tiny beads I like to use are becoming more difficult. As a result, this way of working will now evolve as I explore new possibilities.

So I’ve brought together ten years of work in a virtual online gallery, it will go chronologically as my understanding evolved and my certificates and qualifications grew with my portfolio.

I’ve called the exhibition SABBATICAL because, when I first moved from city life to the small seaside town where I now live, I felt as though I was stepping away from the life I had known. I had a sense I was taking a sabbatical in order to face myself and find out what was going on. Being at the coast felt I couldn’t outrun myself any longer.

Now, ten years later, my sabbatical is coming to an end. My creative practice is evolving, and I finally have some answers. This exhibition acknowledges that journey before I move into the next stage of my life.

10% of any sales profit will go to the charity CMTUK to help fund research as both my children also have this condition.

I will update you only when there is something to share.
